Towards the end of December, the media encourages you to reflect on what you really want, and to start making your New Year's Resolutions. Then, come January, the statistics about the people who fail and fall off track start hitting the papers. The media sets you up for failure, or the idea that most people give up their resolutions, so it's ok if you do, too.
The Bombshell Blueprint is a place where that mentality doesn't exist.
We make goals monthly, weekly, daily...they are not something that only happens once a year.
I believe health and wellness is a continuous journey, there are no starts and stops.
I believe failure doesn't exist. Goals are made and achieved daily, and if they are not achieved, we learn, rework, and reset.
I believe that there is no such thing as a quick fix. You didn't arrive at your current state of health overnight, and neither will you reach your optimal health overnight.
I believe there is no such thing as a one size fits all mentality. You are unique, your tastes and preferences are unique, your body is unique, and you should be treated as such.
I believe that being given the right tools, knowledge, and guidance is the first step to change.
I believe that your best life is born from a healthy body, a stress-free mind, and a balanced lifestyle.
So, what to do with your New Year's Resolutions?
Break them down.
Setting annual goals can be helpful, but you can't stop there. Break them down by month and by week. You need to set timelines and give yourself deadlines for achieving those goals. Make them specific, not general. How will you lose the weight, clear up your skin, ditch the stress? What steps must you take?
365 days is a long time, and this should NOT be the only time you're making resolutions. You can achieve whatever it is you want, you just have to set your mind to do it, and then create a detailed action plan to achieve it!
So, get thinking! What are you top 3 goals for this month? What steps can you take now to achieve your goals? This can be as simple as just adding more of one of the 9 Bombshell Superfoods to your diet.
Comment below, I love to hear what changes my readers are making in their lives!
One of my goals is to eat more raw food so I ended up buying a vitamix on a whim last night :) And you bet I'll be coming to visit your site for some delicious recipes. I'm happy to see your website and brand expanding!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Kristin! So nice to see your name pop up here! That's awesome! You'll love your Vitamix....I use mine at least once a day. You have to try the chocolate almond butter "ice cream" recipe. That was my favorite thing to make when I first got mine..and it's all raw! :) http://www.thebombshelldiet.com/2012/06/chocolate-almond-butter-ice-cream.html
DeleteMy resolution is to break out my juicer 3-4 times per week! Thanks for the juice recipes. I just made the sunset cocktail today- so good!
ReplyDeleteThat's great Keri! I'm glad you're enjoying the juice recipes. I know my biggest aversion to breaking out my juicer was always cleaning it...if you have something like a juice fountain that spits out the produce pulp into a separate bin, a time saving trick is to line that bin with a small plastic bag, and it will make clean up that much quicker!
DeleteHappy 2013!
My goal is to eat more veggies and exercise at least 3 times a week. I just used my vitamix and am so glad I did -- it was delicious!
ReplyDeleteThat's great! The Vitamix makes everything taste good :)
