Pineapple + Mint Smoothie



If you're wishing for summer, whip up this quick Pineapple Mint Smoothie. 

It happens to be full of stomach soothing ingredients, so is also excellent if you've been experiencing any tummy troubles. 


Ingredients:

1 cup Water or Chia Gel* 
2 cups Pineapple, cut into 1-inch chunks
leaves from 2 sprigs of Mint 
½ inch piece of ginger, peeled

Directions:

1. Pour water into high speed blender or Vitamix.
2. Add in pineapple, mint, and ginger.
3. Blend on high for 60 seconds.
4. Serve and Enjoy!

*Mix 1 tbs. chia seeds in 1 cup of water, and let sit for at least 10 minutes. 

Pineapple 
While it may seem acidic, pineapple actually alkalizes the body. It's also packed with Vitamin C and antioxidants that aid in reducing inflammation.

Ginger 
This tan colored root is a powerful anti-inflamatory that also soothes the digestive tract. 

Mint
The fresh aroma of mint is enough to get the digestive juices flowing or stop feelings of nausea. When eaten helps soothe the stomach and relieve congestion. 

Chia Seeds 
Chia seeds are packed with fiber (1 tbs. gives you 20% of your daily recommended value) and not only keep you satiated, they also aid in elimination.
