In Sanskrit, the word for the coconut palm, kalpa vriksha, means "the tree that supplies all that is needed to live."  The naming is apropos considering the coconut's plethora of healing and beautifying properties.  It has anti-viral, anti-microbial, and anti-fungal properties, as well as cosmetic uses which is why it has been used for centuries as a cure-all.  It also makes an excellent moisturizer (when applied externally or taken internally), hair conditioner, and weight loss tool.
