As promised in my original Food Revolution Day post, I'm getting ready to host my own event!
I've teamed up with my wonderful friend Heloise to host a Farm-to-Table Brunch this Saturday, and we're bringing together tons of good friends, the freshest most delicious home-cooked food, and of course, awareness about food issues and the importance of REAL FOOD.
To inspire you to host your own events, I'm posting our menu below. We will be using the the freshest organic and local ingredients possible. Many of the dishes will be made with veggies and herbs picked straight from the farm the same day, by way of Union Square Farmers Market. We did a little market research this past weekend, as you can see.
On the Menu
To start:
Fresh Seasonal, Local veggies from the Farmers Market paired with Kalamata Olive Tapenade and Roasted Red Pepper Dip
Main:
Organic Egg Fritatta stuffed with Mushroom, Summer Squash, White Onion
Organic Egg Fritatta with Sundried Tomato, Basil, Kalamata Olive
Sides:
Sweet Potato Hash
Mango + Avocado Topped Mesclun Salad
Homemade Almond Flour Bread
Homemade Pecan Flour Muffins
Local Cheeses
Drinks:
Fresh Pineapple + Mint Mojito (virgin or with alcohol)
Excellent wines
We thought we would cap it at 10 people, and we had such an overwhelming response, that we are even looking for a bigger place to host. So, if you're thinking about hosting an event, do it!
